Women in XR announced their inaugural founder cohort. Founders included Lori-Lee Emshey representing Future Sight AR,  Vivian Tan of Beast, Inc., Cheryl Bayer from Living Popups, Sophia Dominguez from SVR, Sarah Hill from StoryUP XR, Spandana Govindgari of ARAD, Morgan Mercer from Vantage Point and Julia Winter from Alchemie. 

Founded by Martina Welkhoff, Abby Albright, and Malia Probst Women in XR fund "exists to elevate female founders and advance equality in the immersive tech industry and beyond." 

On Jan. 6th, 2018 WXR held a Pitch Showcase to highlight the first Cohort. The showcase was held in Altspace, a VR venue and live streamed on YouTube so that anyone could tune in.
